This was the first website that I built at Single Source. This frozen fish manufacturer was looking to update their previous site. I was given a Photoshop document that was to be used as my basic layout. Since I was brand new at the job, I had a little bit of free time on my hands, so I started to massage the design of the website.
I ended up with the arched look to the website so that it reflected the GHF shield logo. This arch is also seen in the front windows of the building. Also, since this company deals with seafood, I kept the blue and green color scheme. The Flash intro is used to showcase GHF’s home, Gloucester, MA., which has a great fishing history.
This site is a great example of the necessity of following a process. More and more pages were added as I was building the website, thus forcing me to rework and redesign some pages and some sections entirely. There have been a bunch of pages that were created after the site went live. Most of the links to these pages now reside on the home page.
Since the site was launched, traffic has increased 85%.
